The Sufficient Golden Scepter
(Esther 4:1-12)
In the time of Esther, Persian law stated that if anyone came into the presence of the king uninvited, there was but one appropriate outcome: death. The only way out was for the king to hold up his golden scepter, thereby granting life to the offender. Let us rejoice today that, because of the person and work of Christ, there is a sufficient golden scepter that brings life to all who trust in him.
