The Real King of Glory
(Esther 1)

The book of Esther opens with an earthly king who thinks very highly of himself, displaying his might and putting his trust and hope in the outward edicts of the law. The real King of glory, however, displays His might by graciously changing His children from the inside out so that they will be welcomed into His holy presence.
